A quartz accelerometer is a precision force-balance accelerometer whose proof mass is a quartz pendulum. The servo loop holds the pendulum at null and the restoring current is the acceleration measurement — a principle that delivers high stability, low noise, and excellent long-term repeatability for inertial-grade sensing.
Catalog quartz accelerometers cover compact to navigation-grade form factors with published input range, bias, scale factor, temperature coefficients, and long-term repeatability specifications. Quartz flexure technology is the standard choice where MEMS devices cannot meet bias-stability or repeatability requirements. Selection is driven by range, bias performance over temperature, output format, and mounting constraints.
Catalog quartz flexure accelerometers. Full bias, scale factor, thermal, and mechanical specifications are published per model.
Full-scale acceleration, typically ±10 g to ±60 g. Size the range to the platform's maximum sustained plus transient acceleration.
Composite bias error and its one-month or one-year repeatability dominate navigation error. Compare only under stated conditions.
Scale factor error and its temperature coefficient determine accuracy at high g. Critical for long-range dead reckoning.
Bias and scale factor temperature sensitivity set uncompensated error over the operating range; check whether the model publishes modelled residuals.
Analog current output into an external sampling resistor is typical — confirm the interface electronics and noise at the chosen resistor value.
